Pre-Verify for Your REAL ID
Do YOU want to be one of the first to receive a new REAL ID when PennDOT makes them available in March 2019?

You don’t have to stand in line at a PennDOT Driver License Center.

Join me at our REAL ID Pre-Verification Event
Co-hosted and staffed by PennDOT

     Thursday, Dec. 6, from 5-8 p.m.
     Knights of Columbus in Shamokin

400 E. Independence St.

To pre-verify for a REAL ID, you must bring with you:
  • Proof of your identity.*

  • Proof of your Social Security number.*

  • Proof of any legal name changes.*

  • Proof of your current, physical, Pennsylvania address.*

*Scroll down for detailed information about the documents you must bring to satisfy each of these requirements.

The federal REAL ID law established guidelines for states to provide new and more secure forms of identification cards. Residents will need these new REAL ID cards in the future in order to enter federal buildings, including courthouses, as well as to board commercial flights.

Customers who successfully complete the process at this event will become eligible for a REAL ID. When PennDOT makes REAL IDs available in March 2019, these customers can apply online for their REAL ID, pay the applicable fees and it will be mailed to them within 10 business days. They will not need to visit a PennDOT Driver License Center.
