Masser Pleased State Budget Invests in Key Initiatives

Masser Votes for State Budget with No New or Increased Taxes

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Kurt Masser (R-Columbia/Montour/Northumberland) and other Harrisburg lawmakers earlier this year adopted a stabilizing budget to fund the state government through the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. After evaluating the ways the pandemic has affected state revenues, Masser and his colleagues in the state House today approved a bipartisan balanced budget that would fund state government through the end of the fiscal year in June without adding any new state debt, creating any new taxes or raising any existing taxes.

Local Officials Advocate for Transition of Northumberland County to Green Phase

HARRISBURG – Several Northumberland County elected officials today sent a letter to the governor advocating the transitioning of Northumberland County to the green phase of the governor’s three-phase reopening plan. State Reps. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-Northumberland/Snyder) and Kurt Masser (R-Northumberland/Columbia/Montour); Sen. John Gordner (R-Columbia/Luzerne/Montour/Northumberland/Snyder) and Northumberland County Commissioners Samuel Schiccatano, Joseph Klebon and Kymberly Best are signatories on the letter.

Masser Closes Office to Public Visits Amid Coronavirus Mitigation Efforts

ELYSBURG – In an abundance of caution and to comply with state health officials’ calls to limit person-to-person contact and practice “social distancing,” state Rep. Kurt Masser (R-Columbia/Montour/Northumberland) today announced his district office in Elysburg and his satellite office in the Danville Borough Building are immediately discontinuing in-person office visits as part of the ongoing efforts to combat COVID-19, commonly referred to as the coronavirus.
